Get the latest, Cutting Edge Training and Education in Addiction Treatment at the new Amsterdam Addiction Counselor Training Academy

Now you don't have to go to America to learn the most current and effective treatment techniques for working with individuals and families with addiction problems. We are offering an opportunity for Dutch residents to receive the same courses that counselors and therapists are taught in the best treatment centers in the US. Courses will be 5 days long, and each participant will receive "hands-on" practical training, in addition to a Certificate of Completion stating that they have recieved 40 hours of training in Specific Addiction Counseling Studies, with the option of demonstrating competence and completing an examination to achieve the credential of "Certified Addiction Treatment Specialist", which will assist you in gaining employment in the field of addiction treatment.

Classes will be taught by Roland Williams, MA, NCACII, CADCII, ICADC, (www.rolandwilliamsconsulting.com), a Master's level addictions therapist, author, treatment director, and educator from San Francisco, with 23 years of experience and personal recovery.

The first Level One course, "A Practical Overview of Effective Counseling Techniques for Addicted Clients and Their Families" November 30th to December 4th, 2009.

The coursework will include Assessment and Treatment Planning, Family Dynamics, Working with Adolescents, Gaming Addiction, Food Disorders, Group and Individual Therapy, Strategies that Work, Working with Treatment Resistant Clients, Introduction to the Principles of the 12 Steps, Relapse Prevention. etc.
This will be the first in a series of four week long courses, with each course being independent of the others, but more intensive and focused. Participants who have completed previous courses will receive a 20% discount on all future courses.
