Coke, speed and XTC used to give us the feeling that we could dance all night, work harder and longer and be more creative and talented! Some of us can use drugs recreationally, without problems. But what about you? Have drugs taken over your life? Are you using more – and using more often?

What about hash and marijuana?
In Holland, we seem to believe that hash and marijuana are “soft” drugs – and aren’t really something to worry about. Drugs are drugs, however, and hash as well as marijuana can be very addictive and damaging. People with a “soft drug” addiction are not able to stop using the drug, even if they want to. They often make excuses about why now is not a good time to stop smoking. In fact, “soft drug” addiction is a disease that affects millions every year.

Have soft drugs grown into hard drugs?
As horticultural methods improve, these drugs have become stronger. Skunk, Nederwiet and other such drugs have even been compared to heroin by people who have used both drugs. Those who seek treatment for drugs like heroin or cocaine often acknowledge that “soft drugs” are their main drug of choice.
