Intensive daily program of treatment and activities.
The Smith and Jones residential program provides comprehensive substance abuse treatment in a beautiful, rustic and serene setting. Clients are provided with a daily schedule of structured activities that includes group therapy, individual therapy, family therapy, psycho-education, life skills workshops, and other holistic counseling activities.
Exclusive focus on Recovery.
Clients ‘live’the program for an average period of between 30 and 60 days. This level of care is most appropriate for those clients who need a safe, structured and supportive environment in which to begin the Recovery process.
During residential treatment, clients are able to focus exclusively on their own Recovery from active addiction without the distraction of work and other social obligations. Clients work closely with our interdisciplinary team to develop an individualized treatment plan that addresses their specific needs.
Diagnosis/Assessment during the first week.
Most Smith and Jones treatment programs begin with our unique, one week evaluation and assessment program. We believe that this is essential for a successful outcome. During this first week the client will be seen by multiple members of our staff, which may include medical doctors, psychiatrists, counselors and life-skill coaches. This assessment will be supervised by a focal counselor who will give the client and family members clear insight into the exact nature of the problem.
Tailor made treatment plan.
After this first week of comprehensive evaluation, Smith and Jones will provide an individualized treatment plan that addresses the client’s specific needs. Together we decide what the best course of action may be. Whether the problem is addiction or compulsive behavior, Smith & Jones has a variety of specialized treatment and coaching options to choose from.
“Living Life Skills” for long term results.
Of course, the “Living Life Skills” program is arecurring part of each of the general treatment programs.
If a client has an addiction problem, dealing with the addiction will be the main focus at the beginning of the program. During his or her treatment the focus on the life skill-areas will increase.
Length of stay.
Following the week long assessment, most clients live-in and continue with the program for an additional period of between 3 and 7 weeks.
Aftercare and Relapse Prevention included for 1 year.
After a 3-7 week admission a client enters a period of After Care. This is an essential part of the treatment and does not incur any extra costs. A client will visit a weekly After Care session to maintain the results of treatment for a period of one year. In the first 6 weeks this is intensified with an extra, weekly Relapse Prevention Session. Both sessions are intended to help a client build, guard and maintain a bridge to 'normal life'.
Admission Criteria:
• A current substance or process dependence that requires supervision and support 24 hours a day.
• No active withdrawal symptoms that would require hospitalization.
• The inability to maintain abstinence on an outpatient basis.
• Commitment to a 30 day minimum length of stay.
